Luna Origin is a free-to-play role-playing game from UltimateGame Co., Ltd. This is an MMORPG set in the cute fantasy world of Blueland and serves as the mobile port of the online game for PC. Featuring anime-style visuals, you choose from one of nine distinct classes: Hunter, Warrior, Sword Master, Warlock, and more.
Like most modern MMORPGs, Luna Origin also features a smooth automation system, where quests can be accomplished with a simple tap on the screen. Touchscreen controls are intuitive, and the soundtrack is on point. This game is a good alternative to Ragnarok M Eternal Love.
Save the fantasy world from monsters
Luna Origin has the standard elements of modern MMORPG titles. You have nine starting classes to choose from. Missions are given by various NPCs, which also serve storytelling and world-building purposes. What makes it easier this time is that navigation is mostly automated, which makes quests easier but takes away the fun of exploration from manually getting from one point to another.
Graphics-wise, the game relies on anime-style artwork and a generally bright color palette. This creates a whimsy fantasy world that matches its overall vibe. The game’s good selection of soundtrack makes it a fun place to stay in for quite some time. You also have the controls, which is very easy for most players. You have normal attacks and customizable skills, on top of movement and inventory.
As a game primarily developed in Thailand, localization is this game’s largest setback. This also serves as the default language and script. It can get challenging to switch the language, and even then, the language localization for English is not yet optimized. Additionally, the servers feel empty because of their rather limited player base. It doesn’t affect the gameplay experience but takes away the multiplayer and cooperative aspects.
A promising game
Luna Origin is a good effort to port the original PC MMORPG. It captures the vibe of the original and expands some of the content, most notably the use of more character classes for more gameplay possibilities. The controls and the soundtrack are already on point. At this stage, it could use better support for other languages and players should start pouring in.
